The Coffee Club – Eagle Street Pier

The iconic number one store of The Coffee Club franchise underwent a major refurbishment in 2014 ready for the company’s 25th birthday celebrations.  This store is located in the Eagle Street Pier complex in Brisbane city overlooking the Brisbane River and is a popular destination for both corporate and tourist traffic.

Works began with stripping out the existing front counter and cake cabinet, uplifting both the wall and floor tiles, removing all graphics and remaining joinery in the front of house leaving only the shell of the store.  In the back of house we removed the internal walls and the toilet to create more usable storage space.

New joinery included the front counter with stone tops, waiter stations, condiments unit, aluminium cage shelving, partition screens, planter boxes and a high bar with power outlets.  The scope of works included a number of different finishes and products including custom made aluminium screens with planter boxes, wall and floor tiles, timber screens, CSR Urban Grey wall panelling and vinyl graphics helping define spaces and create atmosphere.  A new feature wall complete with brick tiles and green wall to the outside dining area gave additional privacy from the neighbouring venue while the same brick tiles were used in new low height walls to replace some of panels of glass balustrading.

New LED down lights replaced existing ceiling lights, new pendants lights were also fitted throughout the store along with festoon lighting to replace fairy lights under the external awning.  New phone and data points fed the new charge bar in the front of house allowing patrons access to data points and power for mobile devices while dining.

The existing kitchen equipment was steam cleaned before the final clean to remove the build up of grime and sanitise the equipment and refrigeration equipment was serviced and repaired as required.  Works were required on the air-conditioning system and fire sprinklers servicing this store, as these were part of the base building these works were arranged by centre management.  IPS worked with Eagle Street Pier centre management (Stockland) to co-ordinate these trades into our programme of works to complete the project as efficiently as possible.
